Connect to the Divine

Each week, Pandit Baskaran performs a devotional ceremony known as ‘abishekam’ to Lord Shiva - that expression of Nature that dissolves irrelevancy, activates inner cosmic power and awakens you to the Truth of life.

You can be part of this powerful experience from a distance, by sponsoring Panditji to perform the ceremony. Panditji will then chant your name and special mantras at the beginning and end of the ceremony so you too may receive the healing benefits of this devotional practice.

What is abishekam?

Abhishekam is a Sanskrit term denoting a devotional practice of giving a holy bath to a deity. It means ‘to clean’ and before starting the ritual, a devotee washes his hands and then pours water over the Linga (expressive of Shiva). However, this practice is not to cleanse the Linga, as God doesn’t need any cleansing. He is already pure and Divine. This ceremony is to help cleanse oneself. Later milk is poured on the Shiva Linga, which is a connotation of purifying one’s life and washing all the ignorance from oneself. When one performs Abhishekam with devotion, the mind is concentrated. The heart is filled with the image of the Lord and divine thoughts. By offering panchamrita, honey, milk, etc, to the Lord, thoughts of the body diminish. Selfishness slowly vanishes. Immense joy is experienced. Through this practice of surrender with devotion, egoism gradually vanishes. When there is forgetfulness of individual self, one begins to enjoy and taste the eternal bliss of the Lord. The unchanging Self of existence. Sat chit ananda.

Testimonials

Full power energy.

“You can feel the energy of the mantras being chanted as if they’re alive and communing with you. And this is when you’re standing with Panditji doing the ceremony, but also when you’re half way across the world back at home! A powerful purifying and uplifting experience indeed.”

An inspiration.

“Panditji is not only a master but a dear friend who continues to inspire me through his infinite capacity of love and devotion. He’s a phenom, a bundle of bliss, a force. He’s our community’s most valuable treasure.”

— Théo Burkhardt

Remarkable.

“The puja and yagya ceremonies facilitated by Pandit Baskaran are remarkable because of his unique ability to commune with the celestial realms. While being the master of ceremony, he also generously invites every participant into this transformative procedure to receive the shower of blessings that were triggered by him. I have been brought up by my Vedic teachers with strict traditional rules when it comes to puja and yagya ceremonies, which are important, however Panditji transcends these rites and conditions. The fine details become irrelevant as we effortlessly move into a Divine communication procedure through Panditji’s profound ways.”
